just returned last week from the eleana apartments. a really nice place the rooms are spacious and the maids come every day to clean them and change sheets twice a week.there are no plugs in the sinks or bath............and there are no kettles grills or microwaves just a hot plate with two rings so when making a cup of tea it takes hours.................take your own kettle............ the pool area is very quiet as there are a loads of instructions of what you can and cant do........we were put of with the two guys behind the bar they just stared all day watching everything you did.they were really unfriendly................so most days we went to the beach..
also you do not get much sleep as behind the apartment there must be a few dogs as they bark all night long, and also behind is a house they are building and you get the noise from that banging all day
but all in all not to bad about a ten minute walk to the main area of skala, but beware coming back at night there are no pavements to walk on you need a torch as the greek drivers drive like mad men and it is hard to be seen
all in all clean place to stay...........

sounds like grumpy has left the pool area thankfully! can i just say that we were never 'rude or disrespectful of the rules of the accommodation and facilities provided' so the fact that they were not 'so welcoming' towards us is bizzarre (many of the other guests who were 'picked' on were not disrespectful either). it seems we just went at a really bad time of year. i have been to scala for the past six years and have never been targetted by hotel staff before, i think grumpy just had a problem with people with young families and also people in their mid twenties, but despite what people think we arent all the same! hopefully the ratings of the place will go up again now, it is dissapointing that one person can destroy the genreal atmos of a place and I am glad he appears to have gone!

Got back from a week at The Eleana Apartments yesterday, and I honestly cannot see what people have been complaining about! Apartment was very clean, modern, lots of storage room. Lovely hot powerful shower with bath and shower curtain (A Greek rarity!) Bins emptied daily.
Pool was huge, and very clean, if a little cold! Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. The guy behind the bar, Tino, was polite and friendly, as was the cook. Drink and food prices were reasonable, and the food was nice for a snack lunch.
I would certainly recommend it, and would be more than happy to go back there!

Hi this was the third time that we stayed at the Eleanna in four years and the accommodation was excellent as on all previous ocassions. The apartments are kept extremely clean with the maids coming in every day. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The pool is ideal for relaxing around all day, as for the grumpy old men behind the bar where were they
? One of them I remember from 4 years ago and he was as nice as could be, very polite with Good morning Sir, Thank you Sir every time we visited the pool and bar etc.. The other one, the cook was just as friendly. I think that if the holiday makers are rude or disrespectful of the rules of the accommodation and facilities provided then they may find that they are not so welcoming towards you.![]() The pool as always was exceptionally clean and there was no problem whatsoever in children going in with T-shirts on any time of the day
. The ruling of having no lilo's etc in the pool was taken a couple of years ago as many "brit's" decided to fill the pool with all manners of lilo's, boat's and other inflatables so that people were unable to go and have a swim. The prices at the pool bar for drinks and snacks were in keeping with everywhere else as was the cost of the air conditioning. I think to be fair though that in countries where air con is necessary it should already be built into the holiday package.
All in all you will struggle to find a better holiday accommodation than the Eleanna in Skala.
We will certainly be going back.!

Have just returned from a two week holiday to the Eleana apts - we had a lovely time! Reading the comments below I do sympathise about the 'grumpy old man' behind the bar, but to be honest we just ignored him, or gave as good back! So I would just like to let you know about our two week experience.
![]() The apts were very spacious, clean, airy and comfortable. The cleaning girls worked very hard with rooms smelling lovely when they had gone. Didn't have a plug but the showers were powerful and hot. Something we haven't experienced on other greek islands. We did loose the hot water on two occasions after a couple of short power cuts which 'tripped' the switch on the boiler. But on letting the manager know, this was put right immediately!
During our two weeks we didn't have any young children in the apts, just teenage families, ours included, we swam and made quite a bit of noise but were never repremanded, must have struck lucky. In fact it was a couple of our fellow guests who let the side down, luckily they decided to go down to the beach most of the time.
The pool rules were alittle over the top, especially in this day and age of watching children and sunburn. The only grumble we would have was the food at the bar - over priced and not very nice - definately need a new chef/cook with a 'snack' menu!![]() The air con was very useful during the extremely hot weather, and muffled the sound of any dogs barking! Yes you did have to pay for it but having visited quite a few other islands the price was pretty much the going rate, and to go without would be just plan stupid.
The position of the apts was just right for walking into the village, about 5/10 minutes depending on the time of day and heat! Lovely stroll back late on after a good greek meal and a couple of cocktails!
The village of Skala had everything you needed - bakery, supermarkets, and some excellent tavernas and cocktail bars. We couldn't recommend one imparticular as we didn't have one bad meal the whole fortnight.![]() You must hire a car and visit the rest of the island, especially Assos and Fiskardo - two very picturesque villages with plenty to see. Argostoli for shops, fresh food market and ice cream!!!
Myrtos beach - just to see the white shingle beach and experience the waves! Brilliant!A boat trip to Lefkas, visiting a couple of famous islands on the way is also a good way to spend a day.
They would have first class accommodation if they get rid of 'Grumpy' and change the menu. All in all we would recommend the Eleana apts and the resort of Skala!!!

just returned after 2 week stay and have to agree with all the comments made about the swimming pool and the pair of grumpy buggers who work there. in fact the owner could do better by replacing them with the 2 lovely friendly cleaning girls ! any first day arrivals--allow 10 minutes to read the RULES of the pool to save grief later.after a few days most people had opted for the beach or other pools nearby with a bit more atmosphere, after all it is a holiday complex! can't fault the spacious clean appartments ,however if the temperatures are extreme you will be expected to pay 7 euros a day for air CONdition. one other thing was the howling/barking all night from the dogs on the hill next door so should i return(yea right) a shotgun would be a must to silence the damn things.

I HAVE RECENTLY RETURNED FROM MY HOLIDAY WITH MY CHILDREN AND WERE UNFORTUNATE TO BE STAYING AT THE ELEANA, I CANNOT FAULT IN ANYWAY THE APARTMENTS AS THEY WERE SPOTLESS AND CLEANED EVERYDAY. BUT THE POOLSIDE RULES WERE A SHAM!!!!!! THE CHILDREN WERE EXPECTED TO REMAIN QUIET AT ALL TIMES, LAUGHING AND JOKING WAS FORBIDDEN! NO USE OF AIR BEDS,OR BALL GAMES WERE ALLOWED, BASICALLY ANY FUN YOU WANTED TO HAVE BY THE POOL WITH YOUR KIDS WAS A NO GO! WE WERE TOLD ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS TO BE QUIET, (WE WERE HAVING A FEW SWIMMING RACES AND THE KIDS WERE EXCITED) BARING IN MIND WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE POOL AT THE TIME, AND ONE OTHER COUPLE BY THE POOLSIDE WHO EXPRESSED THAT WE WERE NOT CAUSING THEM ANY DISTURBANCE. THE ONLY ONE WE WERE DISTURBING WAS THE GRUMPY OLD GIT WHO SITS AT THE BAR DAY IN AND DAY OUT,WATCHING YOU LIKE A HAWK LISTENING TO HIS MUSIC! WE WERE MADE TO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE AND THE KIDS FELT THAT THEY COULD NOT ENJOY THEMSELVES. THE OWNER OF THE ELEANA ALSO OWNS THE MARIETTA ACROSS THE ROAD AND THE SAME RULES ALSO APPLY THERE. SO IF YOUR THINKING ABOUT STAYING IN ANY OF THESE APARTMENTS WITH KIDS BARE IN MIND WHAT I'VE SAID. IF WE DECIDE TO VISIT KEFALONIA AGAIN WE WILL DEFINATLEY BE FINDING A MORE CHILD FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION WERE YOU CAN SMILE AND LAUGH AND ENJOY QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR KIDS, AFTER ALL THAT'S WHAT A HOLIDAYS ABOUT, ISN'T IT?

| We have just returned from our second stay in these apartments. As with last year we cannot fault the rooms, clean, spacious all that you need. Unlike last year though the pool is now a no fun area. My 2 children were using a small rubber boat in the kids pool and were asked to remove it. One day we were the only people in the pool so we had a couple of races, this time we were told "calm down", there was only 2 other people around the pool area and they said they did not mind. The very friendly English lady "Sharon" has now moved to the other apartments over the road, leaving just a misrable old sod, who if he smiled may need to go to A & E to get checked out! He has tip jar on the bar which if he did more than just grunt when serving and maybe collected empties from the pool area (you have to take back your own) would probably get a tip. The same can be said (apart from the service at the bar) about the sister apartments over the road. We were in there one evening and my children were playing on the swings and the whole time the owner just stood staring at them, so much so that my children felt uncomfortable and decided it best just to sit down with us. These are great apartments if all you wish to do is go to the beach and have somewhere clean to sleep, if not then keep your kids on a short leash, dont smile to much and dont expect to have to much fun around/in the pool. Also just another point to add, wish that the weather is cool as the air con for the rooms cost €7 a day! For a two week stay thats €98! Nearly £70. I think the owner may need to rethink some of his ideas before this goes further down the pan and turn into a 60+ only complex. | |

Hi, The only ones I can immediately are the Marietta which is right next door. I must admit I have stayed at both and the Marietta is no where near as nice but for the location it would be idea for you. I think they are with Airtours. Cheers
