| For some unknown reason my comments about the San Giorgio only received an average rating. I can catagoricaly state that the whole complex and everything in it is more than excellent. | ||||||||||

Hi John I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to the San Giorgio. I have been visiting Kefalonia (Skala) now for the past three years and this will be my 6th visit to the island and to the San Giorgio. I go back again in May 2007.
I love the place, I can honestly say it is my second home. The rooms are spotless and the staff are so fantastically friendly and accomodating, you cannot fault the place.
Bravo San Giorgio!

I don't care what anyone else says, the San Giorgio is the best in Skala if not in Kefalonia. We have just returned from two weeks, which was our third visit in as many years. The whole complex is second to none, right down to the maids who do a fantastic job both on the rooms and around the pool complex, right upto the owners Sonia and daughter Francesca who are on site most days from first thing in the morning and then organising Greek dancing/Karaoke in the bar til late into the night. Just about to book up for next year, so might just see you there.

We have just returned from a glorious week at the San Giorgio Hotel, we travel quite alot and this has to be one of the best hotel's we have ever stayed in, the view from our room (no 73) was simply stunning, it was one of the best views we have ever had from a room before, the cleanliness cannot be faulted and the staff are all friendly, our room was cleaned every day and some of the little "extra touches" left by the cleaners would always make us smile when we got back to our room at the end of the day, (if you stay there you will know what I mean!) Yes it is slightly out of the resort centre but they do have a courtesy bus and taxi's are only 5 euros, however if you do decide to walk it will take you about 40 minutes, it is a very pleasant walk along the coastline and you can explore the little hidden coves along the way and stop for lunch on "the boat" which is about the halfway mark :0) We met at least two people who had stayed there before and I know that this certainly won't be our last visit either. I would highly recommend a resturant called "Symposium", the food was delicious and they have a pianist and singer most nights to add to your evenings entertainment! Yes I would recommend the San Giorgio Hotel to anyone :0)

| My suggestion is do not organise any car hire through the tour agents as this is an extremely expensive way of hiring a car. I have just arranged a weeks hire for €145 inclusive 7 days hire. | |

my boyfriend and i have just returned from Kefalonia. we are 21 years old and we had an amazing time. the San Giorgio was fabulous.
i disagree with some of the comments that have been made about the staff at the hotel. We found them to be very polite and a lot of fun. they welcomed us on the day we arrived and were so lovely to us for the whole two weeks that we were there. the bar men were very cool and lovely too. we came to be good friends with them all and i only hope that we will go and stay there again one day.
the beach (cove) near the hotel was beautiful and we enjoyed the events in the evening at the hotel. the events were quite tame i.e. kareoke, so dont go if you are expecting the party lifestyle of ibiza! but we loved it. just make the most of it and drink some oozo and tequila!
it reachd 43 degrees when we were there so we were very happy with our tans by the end of the holiday.
i would recommend the hotel to everyone. do not be put off by the walk into skala. its really not that far, and to be fair it is not as if you have got much else to do in the day. so make the most of the coastal walk- or, as we did, hire a moped for a few days and get around that way. very fun! try and drive to sami and poros if you get the chance-less touristy than skala.

Further to my last entry we have just returned from Kef, and the San Giorgio which was as good as before, if not better. The additional pools (3) and poolside space is fantastic, well thought out and a real plus, without any more apartments (yet) so that you can enjoy the additional space and pool type and surroundings to suit.
Like us we met a number of peolpe returning, as they had enjoyed this location so much, and didn't want to take a chance elsewhere.
I thoroughly recommend the San Giorgio to all!
Best regards and have a happy holiday!

| We are just about to return to the San Giorgio for the thid time, and from the comments on this site it sounds as great as ever.
A new and additional pool should be great, with the friendly staff and fantastic surroundings I really can't wait.
I will of course update upon our return though just in case!
