Our stay at the end of September was just about perfect. We swam and snorkelled in the clear warm sea below the hotel,feeding the fish with bread we saved from breakfast! JMC organised a couple of day trips to Ithica and around the island and we used taxis which were cheap. Food in the evenings at the hotel or in Skala was really excellent. The staff at the hotel were all great!

We enjoyed the excursion to Ithica which was organised from the hotel and the Round the Island one as well as it was our first visit. This year on our return we will probably hire a car for part of our stay but your instinct is right...let someone else worry about the hair-pin bends and mad tourists!

It is refreshing to see that some people are not comfortable with the hotel or Skala as it means more space for those like us who love it!
However the sea below the hotel is clear, beautiful and full of brightly coloured fish because you swim off a pebbled beach. The sandy beaches are five minutes cycle ride away!
We are returning at the end of September to San Georgio and hope to meet some fellow enthusiasts!
