Zephyros Hotel - (Accommodation in Skala)

Nik C

Just come back from a week in Skala and stayed at the Zephyros. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, laid back atmosphere and a quiet holiday. Perfectly placed for a 10-15 min walk into town. If the hill leading up to it becomes too much there is another way in and out of town going out the top way or a taxi will cost 5 euros.

Facilities are great and couldn't ask for anymore. Lovely view if your room is facing the sea like ours was looking out over toward mainland Greece and Zante.

Andreas and his wife couldn't be more accommodating and entertaining !!

The Pines - (Restaurants in Skala)

This seems to be one of the biggest debates on this website as to whether the Pines is any good.

We found the service, food and staff all excellent. We had been dubious of trying it after reading some of the comments on here but you couldn't deny night after night walking past and seeing how busy it was. We finally took the plunge and ended up eating there three nights running just to be able to try as much as possible on the comprehensive menu.

Could find nothing to fault the experience and certainly didn't find it anymore expensive than the other restaurants in town.

Each to their own as they say, try it and see what you think

La Luna - (Restaurants in Skala)

Staff seemed very surly in here, only time they seemed to warm to anyone was when paying the bill !

Food was very average

Pines Too - (Bars in Skala)

Only went here for drinks as the location is so good but they really don't seem to make the most of it. Drinks easily more expensive than anywhere else in town and service was poor. Staff seemed very disinterested mind you there was only two other couples in there so hardly rushed off their feet !
