Thirteen days and counting!!  It's been over a year since i've been to Kefalonia, and now we're into the final few days count-down, I can't think of anything else, work is unending and more dull than ever, Uk weather leaves me cold :)

Well...

I've said it before and i'll say it again - if you want real Greece, not 'what Brits in a foreign country' deem as a fantastic holiday, this is the one for you!People complain because it's isolated (pure heaven if you ask me), and God forbid, you have to walk occasionally!  Bring it on...  Great people, stunningly beautiful scenery, delicious food (and drink), great music and the best day-trips ever to be conceived in the history of day-trips.  All totally soul-enhancing!  Trust me, you'll never see your 9-5 in the same light again.  Long live Pythos :)

I've just returned home from my third visit to Svoronata, staying at the wonderful Pythos appartments. Isoloated, yes. Peaceful, yes. Lovely family who make you feel very welcome (this year mama covered me in kisses and hugs everyday unbidden...!) gorgeous food, and some of the most tranquil and stunning scenery you'll see. I'll be back every year till the time I drop dead!

Is there not an icon for a quadruple thumbs up???!!  This is the second year I've been on this trip (twice each year), and it really is something special.  Captain Makis, Nick, Kristo, Melanie and new recruit Tim, are an inspirational team who deserve so much credit.  A day to remember.  On the return journey, everyone aboard knows each other, and the atmosphere is fantastic.  I've been lucky enough to see the dolphins everytime I've been, and there's nothing quite like the sensation of being that close to such amazing wild animals.  Goosebumps and a lump in the throat!  What with being provided with some of the most delicious food you'll eat on the island, plied with wine non stop, on an idyllic beach with great people, I'm suprised that there's still people out there who'll try their hardest to find something to complain about.  For me, and I know for many others, this trip really is the icing on the cake for my holidays to Kefalonia.  Enjoy!

I've said it before, I'll say it again... This is the best excursion you can get!!  I went on it three times this year, and loved every second.
