We first found the Apolafsi in 1989 our 1st visit  to kefalonia and Lixouri and have loved  it ever since, Babis and Spiro were only in their teens, (Babis still looks as though he still is) Their  mother Tessia did all the home cooking which has always been very good, their dad Gerasimo all the repairs, have stayed there on several occasions the atmosphere is very relaxing, the pool which has been added in the latter years is beautiful, the views out of this world and although we don't always stay there we always pay then many visit during our stay in Lixouri as these are the people who first made an impression on us on our first visit. love the whole family, and always will

Cannot understand why there are no comments on Zorba's in Lixouri, this restaurant is excellent, reasonably priced, good home cooked food, very friendly owner his wife and staff, towards late evening your lucky if you can get a table as it is fully of Greeks surely that's recommendation at the highest.

We are not really beach people now but did enjoy it in our earlier years, always found Lepada, clean, and safe for children as we took two grandchildren there in 1992, aged then 8 and 6, who loved every minute they were there, The Greek people love to swim and weekend is their only chance, and as Greek girls are not allowed to got topless perhaps it does make the young Greek boys to pass remarks. and lets face it some of our topless bathers can sometimes be all but naked, but Lepada is a lovely beach, you are not harrassed by sunbed sellers but now at our age and suffering knee problems, the steep walk down to the beach is becoming a problem for us 

Add your comment here..We have been going to Kefalonia now since 1989 sometimes twice a year and will be going back this June have been there between late April  and late October found the weather different so often. had it hot in May also chilly, the same in June, July has usually always been good, August days good maybe chillie towards evening likewise September, October not really  not recommended, but one year been there in July and returned October the weather was just as hot but this was exceptional  but what ever the weather always enjoy it

This restaurant is quite good, and reasonably priced, well it was prior to the Euro used to be run by two brothers and one brothers wife, but unfortuately one of the brothers died this reflected for a short while on the restaurant, but glad to say picked up again, gets frequented by lots of Greek people during the day time, so that is some recommendation.

We loved the Arhipelagos very much as we have known Babis for many many years, but sadly this year on our return to Lixouri the restaurant had changed hands still a little expensive but very nice forgotten the new name sorry

We have visited here over many years used to be run by two brothers and one of the brothers wife, but unfortunately one brother died and for a while this reflected on the restaurant, but visited again this year and things had picked very much, we usually use this restaurant for a mid day snack so cannot really comment on main meals, but the amount of Greek people using it during the day is tremendous so thats for me is good recommendation

Have expressed my views previously which have only shown as being good but I find this place excellent in every way

Kefalonia is accessable by most tour operators in April the season does not staet until May or the very last few days in April
