Lourdas is VERY hilly - the appartments are very near to the beach & you can hear the waves hitting the shore from your room. Rooms were clean, with a good size fridge & one of those Greek luxuries - a shower curtain! Not really suitable for the infirm tho', on account of the hills, unless you hire a car. Taxi to the supermarket is €5.
We ate there several times (it was second closest to our apartments) Portions were always a good size & hot & staff were very friendly - free roses on our first night! Not the fastest service (but what do you expect in Greece?!) & the bill used to take ages to arrive, but better than being pushed out in a hurry! Cheese balls were excellent!!
Not the sandiest beach you'll ever visit, but nice scenery. Sea varied between crystal clear & calm, & murky at the edges & quite rough in first week in May. Distinct lack of sunbeds on our visit, but apparently we were a bit early in the season. Beaches were unusally edged by allotments, complete with local Greek horse!
