click to enlarge We tried Albouro for the first time this year, we found the food really good and went back several times, the service was a bit hit and miss I think they were short staffed but hey whats the rush we were on holiday! Albouro had some lovely specials on each evening which we enjoyed while overlooking the sea, a lovely setting.

I thought Tony was being a bit harsh when he wrote his comment below, we had been at the Albouro in May last year when the sons were busy building their new restaurant. It did finally open in July so last summer was their first run at it.

We have just been back to the Albouro and visited the restaurant on a number of occasions.
The only criticism I would have is that the menu is quite limited, although Voula does have nightly specials that she cooks herself.
The food we had  was of a good standard.
Service always good.
Free Ouzo's plenty.
For early May there were certainly a good percentage of the Katelios crowd eating there and they did go more than once.
Recommended for an early evening drink staring out to sea, or for your evening meal.

A new Arbouro restaurant opened in the grounds of the Arbouro acommodation in summer 2006 to the west of the original now closed eatery.  We have been very complementary about all the tavernas in Katelios.... up till now.  The new Arbouro was appalingly awful both for service and especially food on both occasions, though why we went twice escapes me.  On the second visit they told us they had no fish, although it was on the menu.  They then served a table of Greeks with a fish banquet while providing us with a tasteless seafood meze mostly out of tins.  The main courses were little better.  Given the quality of the food available I would not expect this to be there in 2007.

The Alborou restaurant was the very best in 1994 - Nickos, his family and staff were absolutley wonderful. It is now called Ellinko and has changed a great deal. Two of the original staff are still in Katelios, Fotis who now runs the beach bar alongside Ellinko and Persas who has her own fantastic taverna on the road down to the beach.
