Anastasis Apartments

Accommodation in Trapezaki

Dot Robinson          10/10

Stayed here for one week and we should should have stayed much longer but had booked another place for the second week in case internet pictures weren't accurate. Mistake on my part as the apartment so very clean - sheets and towels spotless. Stavroula and Mikas so very generous with their time and very friendly - seemed like we had known them for ages. Close to some very nice eating places and there is a good supermarket as well. The walk to the beach is fine on the way down but a bit of a hike coming back! A car at 150 euros for 4 days was well worth the price. Small things like a hair dryer, washing up liquid and tea towel, clean fridge make nice touches. Beautiful garden and we were told to help ourselves to oranges from their tree! Really lovely place and we will certainly go back. Thank you Stavroula and Mikas xx Dot Paul and Mike

Brilliant and relaxed, simple and clean. the owners cleaned and change sheets and towels through the week and are extremely friendly but inobtrusive. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxed peaceful holiday. Phone numbers for the appartments as diplayed there are:  2671031559   and 6695954140. you are proabably better to email them as it gives them time to translate. if you want a view of the sea go for 4,5,6 upstairs or downstairs is cooler and more shaded with great privacy. The gardens were lovely and they encouraged you to pick and eat as many oranges as you wanted, delicious. You can manage without car hire but if you book it before you go its al lot cheaper than using taxis and buses are almos non existant. We also joined with a couple of days sea canoeing, no experience needed and just amazing, fantastic value and a great way to see the Island. Enjoy, we certainly did.

Does anyone know if the apartments are available through a company this year. Does anyone have the phone number for the apartments?

Just got back from the most amazing holiday staying in the Anastasis Apartments. The block contains only 6 apartments and is ideally located in the most beautiful surroundings.

The apartments are excellently kitted out and have stunning views. There is no air conditioning though I was expecting for a ceiling fan at the very least but instead they offer free standing fans for hire for 15 Euros a week - a must!

We tried all three of the local tavernas and to be honest the food was of equal standard in all. We found that although the Crystal Palace is the least likely looking of the three (the others being the Olive Tree and Diana's) it turned out to be the best value and had the best view and atmosphere, its also the closest. The owner, a double for Danny DiVito, was extremely welcoming and very friendly and on a day when we just wanted to sit on a balcony and have a few drinks by ourselves we discovered to our delight they would do takeaway... I saw them do a delivery too but neither are advertised. I heartily recommend the grilled sausages, stuffed tomatoes and meat pie. The local beer - Mythos - ain't bad either.

Everything you need is just a short walk away and although there isn't a pool you are welcome to use one just down the road at the Marina Anna. Trapezaki beach is close by and the walk back from it is quite a climb but there's absolutely no rush, the atmosphere is so extremely laid back. The loudest noise you're likely to hear are the bells of the sheep as they pass by every morning and night.

We hired a car for just a couple of days, which is all you really need to be able to get around the whole island if you're happy walking locally. Everywhere was beautiful and pretty much unspoilt but I definitely think we were staying in the very best place.

Just come back from here and the rooms are all of excellent quality and higher than normal standard. The location is good offering easy access to three tavernas within walking distance and many more a very short drive (or walk for the fitter)away. Two small supermarkets are located with within walking distance and provide virtually all that would be required during a stay here.
The apartments do not have ther own pool, but do have shared access to one down the road where we were made to feel very welcome and at no cost whats so ever. We found generally speaking that we could use any pool in the area and this is virtually guaranteed so long as you buy drinks from them and don't bring your own.
The beach has to be one of the finest in Kefalonia although it is small but not overcrowded.

Tavernas and Bars

Dinanas taverna = Superb food but not the cheapest and the Greek night is not that good

The Olive Branch = Superb food, cheaper than most and a brilliant greek night with plenty of atmosphere (this is the place to head for)
Also they have a small rooftop bar across the road from the taverna which is very pleasent.

The Crystal Palace = We did not try this one, but from talking to people who had the consensus of opinion is that you wouldn't write home about it.

We found a brilliant taverna down in Lourdas which was right on the sea front at the left hand bend and has a internet cafe close by on the roof. This taverna gets our groups thumbs up for value, service and overall quality of food with more than generous portions, this is the best in the area but we had to go by car as it is not within walking distance from Trapazaki.

Brilliant holiday and will be back to this area again..:-)

Have stayed here for the last two years and already booked for 2003. Simple accommodation but clean and spacious. About 5mins walk from the village centre. Can also recommend the Olive Tree taverna and its massive portions of Kefallonia meat pie.Have been to Kefallonia 12 times since 1986 and stayed mostly in Scala. Trapezaki is the best place for a quiet relaxed holiday.
