Pegasus Studios

We visited in August 2012 and going back to Karavados again this year. Pegasus is typically Greek and good value for money. We had no problem with hot water,clean towels or bedding - any extra you need just ask Tassos - really friendly owner, who couldn't do enough for us. Karavados is quiet and a car is essential. 10 mins from the airport and 3 mins from St Thomas beach. Handy for Avithos and Lourdas too within a short drive. Evenings, walk down to Happiness restaurant or short drive to the many tavernas tucked away on quiet roads, plenty to try. Argostoli about 15 min drive. Thank you to Tassos and his lovely wife for making us feel so welcome.

Which Tour Operator is offering holidays to the Pegasus Studios in Karavados Kefalonia and also the Rodi Studios in the same village. We have been their for the last 5 years and wish to book again.

My partner and I jave just returned from Kefalonia. The island itself is superb but as for Pegasus Studios they were quite basic really. There are two apartments on the bottom floor which i think were an afterthought (rooms 12 and 13). We were unfortunate to have been allocated room 13 which was on the bottom floor with no balcony - just two chairs outside which everyone else had to walk through to get to their rooms - not ideal for a quiet drink or nice meal! To top it all a stray dog lived outside the room and constantly hassled us for food/attention. A car/bike is definately advisable due to the fact that the long walk to the beach is uphill on the way back and there are no street lights for when it gets dark. The beach tough was nice and one of the 3 restaurants/bars (the garden bar) was good - the other two were too pricey and service was crap! The only noise problem that we found were the village dogs and the fridge in the room that made a good nights sleep quite difficult. All in all, it was okay but for the real taste of get away from it all Kefalonia you should go and stay in Assos on the North West of the Island - absolutely breathtaking.

Myself and my partner visited Kefalonia last August, and got an apartment in the middle of the building. We had no problems with the water, it was always warm or hot, our linen was changed 2-3 times a week and towels were replaced. We really enjoyed our stay as we wanted something off the beaten track where we could do as we pleased. The local shop was great, full of fresh vegetables and other essentials, not to mention a few local characters. The local baker had a great scheme going for the locals - look out for the bread on the trees! The locals were all very friendly and helpful, the nearest beach was about 4km away which we could walk in a little over half an hour. If you have kids or wish to explore the island then a car or moped hire would be a good idea. You can hire mopeds just up the road from Pegasus from a canadian-greek guy called Matt(who also has loads of local information and is a great translator when you are stuck with the little old lady in the shop trying to give you immense amounts of feta cheese as a gift!!)All in all it was a great holiday and we will definately go again - but don't forget earplugs as there are dogs barking all night and roosters at 5am!!

A block of 13 apartments, most with balconies, think these would be OK. Apartment 12 not good as no privacy, everybody else has to walk past the door and windows to get to the other apartments, so if you do not want to be constantly on view,don't stay in this one,you have to shut yourself in, this makes it rather dark and quite depressing. Solar heating means cold water in the morning and at night, hot late afternoon, but thats all. Pool nice, quiet village location apart from barking dog at bedtime. Our towels and bedding changed once during our weeks stay, but we were only given two small hand towels for 2nd part of week, had to ask for more,we were allowed one more large towel. Poor selection of crockery in apartment,one crazed mug, so we bought our own. What the apartment lacked the island made up for, it is magnificent !!! But definately the worst apartment I have ever stayed in !!
