just back from lixouri, went to taverna for lunch twice and went back on our last night for an excellent mixed gill for two, excellent!!! great place, great service and really friendly people, if we ever go back to Kefalonia we'll be back to the Apolafsi and recommend to eveyone!!!! | ||||||||||

| We first found the Apolafsi in 1989 our 1st visit to kefalonia and Lixouri and have loved it ever since, Babis and Spiro were only in their teens, (Babis still looks as though he still is) Their mother Tessia did all the home cooking which has always been very good, their dad Gerasimo all the repairs, have stayed there on several occasions the atmosphere is very relaxing, the pool which has been added in the latter years is beautiful, the views out of this world and although we don't always stay there we always pay then many visit during our stay in Lixouri as these are the people who first made an impression on us on our first visit. love the whole family, and always will Pauline and John | ||||||||||

| We're currently sat in an internet cafe because the weather is crap! However, the first 5 days of our fortnight were very hot and sunny. We hired a car from Rallatos in Lixouri, E190 for the week. We would highly recommend this, as the island is incredibly beautifull and a car is the cheapest way to see it. We found Anti Sami Beach the best, it has a cool beach bar too. The drive from Argostoli is not as nerve wracking as the coast road to Myrtos and Fiskado. Assos is well worth a vist too, it even has an uninhabited prison which has recently been refurbished! Anyway, back to the hotel..We found the rooms to be very clean, but not quite as comfortable as you would expect. We visited some other hotel to compare and the C.P.H. is clearly one of the best. It just seems that they don't go in for comfortable beds. Definitely would not recommend for honeymooners. A couple we made friends with, who shall remain nameless, actually broke their bed and they weren't even participating in bedroom gymnastics at the time! Another point to mention, if you are a family of say, 2 adults and 2 children and have booked a family room, you will be put in the same size room as 2 adults. This would not leave enough space to swing the hotel cat. That said, the staff are excellent, the hotel is very clean, and don't listen to Frank's (The Restaurant Manager)weather predictions! Sri Lanka has a Lion on it's flag and not a Tiger: you may find this information useful!! Bon Voyage and Happy Hols :-) | ||||||||||

| Had a really good time at the Apolafsi. Babis and Spiros were excellent hosts. The pool area is better than anything else in the area. The food at the taverna is very good (thanks to Babis and Spiros's mother).If your thinking of booking up I would recommend a room at the front of the hotel for the superb view over the water to Argostoli and Lassi. Rooms are small and basic but clean and tidy and the fridge in the room is a good idea.The walk to Lixouri is about 15-20mins and it's a 15-20 minutes walk in the oposite direction to Lapeda beach. Pity about the local disco about 1km behind the hotel but if you book into the hotel and not the apartments this should not be a problem (disco runs from july to end of August). I know Babis will read this so.. Thankyou | ||||||||||
