We continually remember hospitality, this fine fish restaurant, fine quality dishes at this restaurant (especially liked the fried calamari) and good service staff when we came several times in September 2013. And also thank you for the wine. For us it was a very pleasant surprise. Also, please send a personal thank you to director of restaurant and Peter for his attention to us and best greek music. It is with great pleasure we will recommend to all our friends this fine restaurant. Boris and Irina from Moscow.

on previous visits to lassi, tratas was our favourite place to dine.warm welcome from pedros, lovely fella, other waiters rushing around bit sweaty, not so friendly. food good, recommend the red snapper fillet. clean and airy restraunt but lacking that greek atmosphere. the owner couldnt be bothered to say good night even though he knew us. free drink at the end of the night, not sure what it was ! we d go back but maybe not our first choice any more.

click to enlargeThis is the best restaurant in Lassi. We have visited Kefalonia on five occasions since 2005, and every time Trata has welcomed us with great tasting food and warm hospitality. We have many fond memories dining at Trata and look forward to eating there again in the future.

The best restaurant in the lassi main road.

Have just returned from Lassi. Last time I was there was in 2005 and much has changed since then. Fortunately not this restuarant. The food was very good with ample sized portions.Pedro and his team provided a warm welcome and excellent service. Fish is a specialality here and the Red Snapper Fillet (9 Euro's) comes highly recommended. Try also the greek cuisine like Stifado, souvlaki etc. This establishment is by far the best in Lassi. We ate here on our last 4 night's and on each occassion were offered a complimentary drink at the end of the evening which was greatly appreciated.

The Trata has maintained it's high standards which cannot be said for some other establishments we visited during our holiday within the resort.

We will definitely be seeking out the Trata again should we revisit Kefalonia - which is highly likely!

We stayed in Lassi from the 22 May to the 5 June 2011. Unfortunately the Trata did not open until the 1st June but we did eat there for the remaining 4 nights of our holiday as the food was so good and was far better than all the other restaurants we tried in Lassi.  The Red Snapper fillet and Swordfish fillet were really good and were served with jacket potato, rice and 3 different fresh vegetables (no other restaurant ever seemed to serve vegetables other than a slice of cucumber and a slice of tomato!)  Other dishes tried were the Lamb Trata (lovely roast lamb),  Chicken with a cream mushroom sauce and grated with cheese, Pork Steak (massive!) all served with Vegetables, jacket  or chips if preferred and rice. Average prices for the main meals were about 9 euros.  As the main meals were quite large we did not have starters but ones we saw, especially the salads looked lovely.  A complementary drink was usually given at the end of the meal.

The staff were very helpful, service was good and the restaurant very clean and airy.

This is best restuarant in Lassi.............We had the best time of our lives at the resturant. George and Petros are delightful, the waiters are attentive and pleasant. The food was divine and the atmosphere sublime. The portions are large and plentiful..........A memory to treasure forever. P.S. The house wine is very good.........

We ate at Trata a couple of days after the comment below and are really surprised by their comment.  Our food was superb - great starters of garlic mushrooms in cream sauce and calamari, superb mains of vegetarian mezes and red snapper.  Fast service, an Italian star at the next table and a lunar eclipse to boot!  Great meal!

Suberb food and ambience. We had the swordfish steak and kebabs and the kids meals,a smaller version of all the mains, was a welcome change to nugget and chips or pizza !! The pork souvlaki was also excellent. We tried all the main resturants in Lassi but came back here twice which says a lot.Very friendly staff and the aftermeal brandy-on the house was as good as any I have tasted!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meals here - yes we went back a few times!  The food was lovely and the service excellent, very professional.  The Greek dishes were really good - especially the eggplant/aubergine salad starter and the kefalonian meat pie.  Portion sizes were generous - I don't think we were ever able to eat everything on our plates - and they served baked potatoes, rice and veg with main course.  We would heartily recommend this restaurant.

Went here on our first night (we had been here previously on holiday in Lassi). Had lovely meal and enjoyed it. The restaurant was very quiet this particular night even though it was a saturday.  Went again later in our holiday and had to sit right behind the fountains which was very noisy and they are quite powerfull.  It seems we were a bit forgotten sitting here as we had to wait ages to get served for drinks, then our food.  One of us ordered the mousakka and it was quite laughable when it came out as it was the smallest dish ever, served in a little round pyrex bowl!!!! My sisters boyfriend was too polite to complain about it, so he just ate it, but was still starving by the end!  My parents who were with us were not overly impressed with their dishes, not sure what it was but it was some kind of chicken.  When the meal was finished we wanted to go over the road into So Simple bar, but we had to ask so many times for the bill, it got to the point where some of us got up and walked out and over into So Simple.  Only three of us where left and were still waiting for the bill.  We were very close to leaving without paying as they obviously did not want our money!  We eventually got it about half an hour after asking for it, and needless to say they did not get a tip!!!! The only tip I would give the waiters there, is improve on your service to your customers' as this was not acceptable compared to other restaurants we've been to in Lassi.  The best one is Ionio, you cannot match this place, it is amazing and you never have to ask twice for anything, they cannot do enough for you here and the food is amazing!!!!!

Christine B          7/10

Good food.

Don't sit near the fountains if it is windy - you get soaked!!

Ian S          10/10

Absolutely fantastic restaurant, the pork chops look like they have come from a pig in Chernobyl they are that big and juicy, along with a big baked spud, delicious rice and fresh veg. The house wine was the best we had and the free brandys at the end was a treat. If you have enough room left for a sweet try either the fresh strawberries with ice cream or the Lemon pie, although having the strawberries delivered with a lit sparkler to a bloke looked a little suspect. If you just want a drink it is also the cheapest in Lassi so go and enjoy!

This was the best restaurant in town!! Food just melted in the mouth! This is a place where even most requirying gourman wold find a dish to saticfy his/her taste! Food is fresh! Fish is just caught the same day as it is served! Choice is huge! When it comes to dinner choice.... hard to decide cause eyes will want everything and there will not be enough space in the stomach! This will make you definately to come back!

Staff - wow the most friendly and caring and most important they "carry" huge and genuine smile on their faces!

You come to restaurant and a guest and leave as a friend!!!!

We were thoroughly impressed with La Trata!  The choice was excellent, both food and wine, location perfect and our waiters, Panagiotis and Petros were incredibly attentive.  There is nothing bad to say about this restaurant - you must visit!

We would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone - the best in Lassi!  Smile

We were outside looking at the menu board, when suddenly this big greek man appeared from nowhere. FAMILEEE!!!!! he said and proceeded to tell us the history of the restaurant and the entire menu.  We thought Why not? so followed him in over the elaborate water feature (glass covered waterfall underfoot). I had pepper fillet steak and my husband had squid which was excellent. Can't remember what the children had, except littlest one had chicken negkets! Frozen diced veg spoiled it a bit but rice was good and chips were fresh. Ate there twice during our holiday.

John H

this place is the best restaurant in lassi-the guy who explains the menu is a star and the food is top hole-red snapper fillet, swordfish and lamb trata were excellant-it is a touch dearer than the rest but worth it-but why o why serve tinned veg!!!!!!!!!

Jo C

This place was absolutely great! I agree that the veggies were straight of a tin, but who eats veg whilst on holiday? We ate here nearly every night which probably wasn't very adventurous, but when we went to other restaurants they just didn't compare, so we went with what we liked!! Plus they had really nice wine, and the bread was great ....... about the size of half a loaf! I would definitely recommend Trata as the place to eat.

John C

I liked this place, the food was very good, we had the Kleftico and my wife tried the Spaghetti, both were very good. The staff were attentive and the food not over priced, no entertainment , but for a nice meal around 9pm, this place was fine.

Arrived back from Kefalonia last week . We ate out every night and tried lots of different restaurants . This was the best in the resort . The setting was lovely , marble floors and walls with a waterfall at the rear . The food was of a generous portion which is not like Greece At all . The two best dishes we found was the Lamb Trata and the Fillet Steak Trata . Both come with a jacket spud instead of chips which makes a change . The lamb was 8 euro and the steak 12 euro , which is not over priced for Lassi by any means . Kids can have half an adults portion for half the price . better than most restaurants that only do chicken nugget and chips for kids . A bottle of beer 500ml was about 2.4 euro cheaper than most on the strip . The staff were smartly turned out and always happy . the restaurant is owned by a school teacher and he is assisted by another colleague of his from the school . You should go to Trata the first night you arrive there , you will find it very hard to beat anywhere in Lassi !

Just back in U.K. after 2 weeks in Kefalonia and 'Trata' was best restaurant in Lassi. They have very high standards relating to food hygiene and service - can't give enough praise to the staff.

Andy B

This was the restaurant that we ate at in Lassi. We tried others, but ate here four nights out of seven. Food was great, though I agree that the veg were fresh out of the tin (but, hey, I don't do greens anyways!). My recomendation is the Snapper fillet, the swordfish and lamb.

Service was good, the chap on the door - gotta give him credit - makes it impossible to pass without at least one visit :-)

Childrens meals were excellent - anything on the menu in a half portion for half price. The children are aged from three to thirteen and had a great time eating at Trata.

Price, maybe slightly more expensive, but not by much. Well outwighed by free coffee and Metaxa after the meal.

We really liked this place, so much so we ate here on our last night in lassie. the setting is romantic and classy with lots of fountains and marble (definatly more british bistro than rustic greek)Our meals were generous and tasty, and they serve an un-usually good selection of deserts. I had the lemon pie which was the best i had tasted in greece. The price was slightly higher than in other restaurants but you are paying for the atmosphere and service plus a free metaxa with the bill evens the cost out. be warned it is usually packed by 8:30pm
