Liberatos Village - (Accommodation in Lassi)

Emma M

Hi all

Well I just got back yesterday from spending two weeks at liberatos village and me and my boyfriend had an excellent time. Fair enough we didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment complex but when we did it was always clean and enjoyable. The walk down the hill only took us just over five minutes, but the walk up took about ten to fifteen minutes.

The pool is clean and warm, however there are some freaks who spend all day every day at the pool and they do hog the sun loungers and umbrellas endlessly. You know the ones they get up at ridiculous time like seven or eight and come down claim their bed and them they are back off to bed. Never mind!

View from apartment was also excellent. We stayed in block E.

Da Veronica - (Restaurants in Lassi)

It was so disgusting, I ordered chicken and I swear it was the worst chicken I have ever consumed. Partner ordered steak and couldn't even eat it, it was that black.

Monte Nero - (Restaurants in Lassi)

Emma M

This place not only had great food but it had great service too. The food was excellent, we went there twice. The first night unfortunately my partner didn't like his starter very much but didn't make a fuss and the waiter was adament if he didn't enjoy it he wasn't paying for it. We just left an extra large tip instead

Sirtaki Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lassi)

Emma M

It was difficult to say whether this place was good or not. So I'll sum up the good and the bad

Good - meal comes with the most scrumptious potato filled with cheese
Bad- service terrible, waiters are adament they are going to empty your pockets (i ordered soup once and the waiter was clearly annoyed and asked why not get something a little bigger, bit more expensive and have a starter)

I'll let you decide. Don't order the swordfish on a night time it has obviously been sitting out all day, order something grilled

Day trip to Ithaca - (Kefalonia Excursions)

Dya trip to Ithaca was nice, we went with Esmee from Etam Excursions and the woman appears to know everything. She's excellent and gives some great advice. However, I'm pretty sure all the restaurants and that she points out are the most expensive and they give her free food for advising us to eat there. I'm not sure mind, just a little skepticle.

Ithaca was very peaceful and calm, it certainly is an excellent day out, however I was shattered by the end of it.

Island Tour by coach - (Kefalonia Excursions)

Emma M

Also did this tour with Esmee from Etam Excursions and it was definitely my favourite trip even though it may have been the most simple it was the most enjoyable. We had an excellent time, unfortunately though you don't go to Assos which I expected but you do drive past it and get some pretty amazing views. Mytros Beach is gorgeous, just wonderful - very much like Zante's ship wreck. Fiskardo is also brilliantand you must visit the Cave and the Lake, they are brilliant. Do not be put off about the large steps into the cave as it is so worth it and isn't even that bad. It looks cool inside, I imagine this place to be somewhere like where the devil lives. But it is beautiful - just red and spiky.

Day trip to Olympia - (Kefalonia Excursions)

Emma M

Wow this trip was boring! Yeah, yeah the site was good, the museum was excellent but it dragged and I felt totally robbed. Damn Kosmar and the office next to them, something beginning with P. Damn them they rob you 58 euros, but the trip wasn't offered anywhere else.

It takes ages to get there by ferry and coach, and then you go straight to the site but are expected to spend TWO hours in some shabby Olympia land. I would have preferred the two hours at the site more

June - (Best Time to Visit)

Emma M

Just got back yesterday and have had the best two weeks.

Went on the 4th June and it reterospect it may have been better to book middle or late June as beginning of June is still a little early and still a little cold and quiet. First few days cloudy and rainy, even thunderstorms but from about the 9th June it was starting to heat up and last week was red hot!

Archeological Museum (closed) - (Places to Visit in Kefalonia)

Emma M

i really thought it was going to be interesting but it was simply a room full of pots really. it's only a few euros so i suppose i cannot complain
