Lourdas Beach - (Beaches in Kefalonia)

Louise C

Hello everyone!!! Lourdas is lovely - it is a shame about the huge walk to the beach but ok if you take it slow and you might even find you miss it when you get back (or not!!) The beach is beautiful-i am not a beach person usually but actually spent the whole day in the sea on a couple of occasions because it was so crystal clear-didnt c any watersports as advertised and unfortunately no shelter-but if you walk along the front you can go up to ionian sun which is open to the public and is very lovely-get your lunch up their too!!! Nice pool-pretty surroundings and a free jacuzzi! If you walk right along the beach it is sometimes a bit quieter and the water is better - to the left it is shallower if you hav kiddies!! Have fun

Myrtos Beach - (Beaches in Kefalonia)

Louise C

Absolutely lovely!!! Take your camera - it is like paradise! Reps will tell you not to bother going down because the of water currents but do not miss it. The beach is a mixture of large pebbles and sand and the water gets deep very fast but as long as you like sunbathing and stay near the shore you will be fine - watch the sea is you have children but no harm in them paddling!!! Think it was 9 euors for two sun beds-bit more expensive than most but def worth it. There is also somewhere to get shelter and food!!! A sight worth seeing x x

Skala Beach - (Beaches in Kefalonia)

Louise C

ok beach but i wasnt as impressed as the rest of the island - however skala makes up for the lack of beauty with its night life - it is one of the busier resorts! there is supposed to be watersports but sea was bit rough on the day i went there so didnt get to make use of them - there is a roman villa though at the top of the stepa down to the beach if you like a bit of history and plenty of souvenir shops!! the beach itself is coa**er sand then the others and the water is not so clear so would recommend lourdas or myrtos if you have a car x x

Muses Cafe - (Bars in Lourdas)

Louise C

Not as impressed as i thought i would be from comments on here - the staff are lovely however!! It is very dark there so try and sit nearer the lights!! There is a water fountain and it would be very romantic if you went with a loved one!! If you want it a bit busier go to the top of the hill and try the bar opposite astra - this has bit more music!!

Glass bottom boat trip - (Kefalonia Excursions)

Louise C

Even though we didnt see dolphins due to a storm a few days before this trip was excellent!! The captain is so funny!! The beach bbq was lovely - olives, feta cheese, bread and loads of salad with kebabs and so much wine its unbelievable!!! You could really make the most of your money!! Volleyball in the water is great fun and anyone can play-whatever their ability - worth a try!! Also try the mud pack - my skin was extremely soft after use-and apartantly its called clarins back here!!! The red sand beach is also lovely but id recommend taking two towels-one to sit on and one to dry with after your walk through the sea to the beach!! Also if your a bit shorter you might need someone to carry your stuff to shore-coz the water isnt waist deep for all of us!! And if that wasnt enough there is snorkelling for champagne in crystal waters where you can get an underwater picture through the glass bottom boat-so take your cameras!! Karoke finishes the day - definitely do it!!

Greek Night - (Kefalonia Excursions)

Louise C

Went to a greek night in lourdas at a restaurant on top of the hill (past spiros etc) near the third/second supermarket. It was a fantastic night-even got a free drink for joining in!! Really enjoyed the dancing-one of my best nights on the island-nice to sample the culture!!

Onassis Dream Cruise - (Kefalonia Excursions)

Louise C

Didnt know anything about onassis but really enjoyed this trip-it was great to learn about the millionaire who actually started off olympic airways!! It was a lovely day-early start of 710 but its worth it!! Especially if you like learning!! Get to stop for lunch in lefkas which is a lovely place too-there are water sports here so dont miss out if you'd like a go-went paragliding and it was fab-really nice staff! Went to recommended restaurant for a lovely lunch-mix your appetisers and treat yourself! Get to swim on the private beach of onassis-nice experience! Take your camera-lovely day out-prob better suited to adults/young adults-smaller children may get bored with it being such a long day x x x

Drogarati Cave - (Places to Visit in Kefalonia)

Louise C

Really amazing site-big cave so no need to worry if you dont like small spaces-theres no crawling involved-just a few stairs!!! Take your camera!! Its worth seeing-especially considering that one inch of each stagagmite/tite takes 100 years to grow-something not everyone gets to see in their lifetime x x

Melissani Lake - (Places to Visit in Kefalonia)

Louise C

It was lovely and cool down there after the heat of the day!! Try to go early morning or late afternoon-when the buses arent there and you might get a longer trip!! The singing boatman is great too!! It was a really amazing sight-the water really looks fluorescent as you wait in queue-the sun shines down through an opening in the roof-it really is beautiful-very short trip however x x

Argostoli - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

Louise C

Really lovely place - one of best meals i had. It is quite expensive so you wouldnt want to eat in the square all holiday but def worth treating yourself!! Try the polo cafe-really comfy seats and we recommend the vegetable ravioli-gorgeous meal and brownies and ice cream desert which is sensational!! Lots of shops-the place to go for gifts to take home x x

Skala Resort - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

Louise C

If you want some nightlife then skala is probably the best! A bar called scandanavia is good-can dance there and a bar opposite is nice and does cocktails-bar opens till bout 3-thats if you can stick the greek men-DONT get eye contact!!! There is an open air club here too-but you would hav to ask the locals-it is called cave in greek!! It is off the beaten track jus past skala-worth seeing if you like nightlife!!

Spiros Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lourdas)

Louise C

Lovely place-lovely waiters! Nice food at reasonable prices-wouldnt have the vege kebabs though-some strange veges on there!!! Can see all food being prepared and def have a desert-they are rather large! One of the nicest in lourdas x x
