Porto Skala Hotel - (Accommodation in Skala)

Just come back from 2 weeks at the Porto Scala Hotel - had a fab time. Staff really friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Rooms were really nice and were cleaned every day. Food was nice - though the 2nd week menu was repeated. But there was always plenty to choose from.

Only down side was the distance from the resort - took 45 mins to walk to the centre of Scala. Taxi's were cheap 4 euros each way but you have to tolerate the somewhat abrupt drivers complaining of you banging the doors to hard!  Also need to allow extra time when getting a taxi back in the afternoon as there are very few taxis working after 1pm. You can wait up to an hour for a taxi to turn up at the rank.

Flamingo - (Restaurants in Skala)

This was one of our favourite restaurants in Scala. Food amazing - could recommend the Meat Balls with cheese served in an individual casserole dish.  Iced peach teas and banana milkshakes very good as well. Friendly staff, always have time for a chat. Nice and shady if you want to get out of the sun for a while.

After you have tried it you will come back - we visited for lunch on several occasions.

Penelopes (the boat) - (Restaurants in Skala)

Food was very nice and location over looking the sea was nice - only downside is that on several occasions we turned up for lunch and they weren't serving food.

Had 1st meal here when we arrived in Scala and was very impressed. Had the Meze and it was really tasty. When ever we walked past it was always busy and other people from our hotel went and enjoyed the food as well.
