Aeolos Beach Aparthotel - (Accommodation in Skala)

Sarah B

We stayed here for our honeymoon for two weeks beginning on 26th August 2003. It is top accomodation - the rooms are the best I have ever stayed in in Greece, we had a double bed and air conditioning - what more could you want!! The pool area is very nice and overlooks the sea. There isn't alot of choice for food/drink served in the pool bar but it is certainly adequate for a lunchtime snack. The walk into town takes approx. 10 mins and is very nice, early evening. However, if you are walking back late on don't forget a torch - this is a must, taxis are only 4 euros though. To get to a decent part of beach you have to do a good 5-10 mins walk, however if its a dead safe beach you are after then travel a little further past the town to Kamina beach which is much better for snorkelling etc. The apartments have a restaurant too, also called Aeolos which is a must - try Aeolos Chicken, its served with the best mash you've ever tasted.
One word of warning (but only a tiny one!!), they are building quite a few more apartments at the moment which I think are going to be half board, so if they don't build another pool the current one will get quite busy. Overall fantastic apartments and lovely resort couldn't have asked for anything better!! Book now people!!

Captains Bar - (Bars in Skala)

Probably the best bar in Skala - it is a must!! It's hidden away behind the Captain's Hotel so look out for the signs to it off the main street etc. Try the Champagne cocktail - its well nice!! Tina and Monica are v. welcoming, we even got a couple of gifts on our last night for being regulars!!
