To Steki Restaurant - (Restaurants in Agia Efimia)

we had the best meals in ag-ef at stekis. the greek night on saturdays was particularly good, with the majority of the restaurant being greek. they all got up dancing & singing during the evening. i think they were pissed but hey, who cares, it certainly added to the atmosphere.

Finikas Restaurant - (Restaurants in Agia Efimia)

food here was ok & staff appeared genuinely friendly. very popular with the locals for sunday lunch. my wife kept wanting to go cause she felt sorry for one of the waiters. he seemed to be poorly paid, deprived of respect & treated like a slave by the owner. (not too dissimilar to my own position in our 22yr marriage). certainly worth a try. the toilets are not very discreet though, they appear to be on a raised platform in full view of part of the eating area. so don't use the 'trap' with the concertina door. it has NO lock on it & if you are in the middle of cleaning 'cheddar gorge' & someone opens the door, half the restaurant will be put off their cheese pies.

To Perasma Restaurant - (Restaurants in Agia Efimia)

food was very poor & appeared to have been cooked last month. it was also stone cold (maybe it was cooked last month!!). the place had no atmosphere & when you are staying for only 1 week it is very disappointing to have a below standard meal. the view was good though, but every place in ag-ef has a good view. not for us.. never again!!!!!!!!!!!

Violatos Studios - (Accommodation in Agia Efimia)

very pleased with these apartments. the owners are very friendly & helpful. not 5* but better than we expected. the location is ideal ie.very quiet but close to everything. well maintained & cleaned. would definitely recommend & also stay here again...if you do happen to visit & notice the holes in the road outside the entrance. they were caused by our motorbike stand digging into the tarmac after the sun had virtually turned the road into liquid tar..sorry mr violatos!!

Myrtos Beach - (Beaches in Kefalonia)

John B

This is a spectacular beach with breathtaking views. The trip down on a moped is quite an experience, especially with a joint weight of over 25 stone & crap brakes. If you take kids though, you need to be VERY careful, as the current & undertow is very strong. If we had taken our kids I couldn't have left them for a second. You also need strong feet but all beaches on this island are the same.
