To Perasma Restaurant

Restaurants in Agia Efimia

Richard S

We have been very lucky to have been introduced to this restaurant in Agia Efimia; We have been here for two months helping to run a charter catamaran and it is our restaurant of choice.

The team at the restaurant look after their customers with that special attention not found in most restaurants; the food is fresh and excellent and the prices the most reasonable we have found in Kefalonia.
We hope you will also enjoy the friendship and food at this restaurant.
Regards
Richard Schofield.

This is the only place to eat in Aghia Efimia.  We picked it the first night, were persuaded to try somewhere else - only one evening - but we couldn't wait to get back to our favourite place to eat.  Lovely staff and ice in the beer!!!

It took us a couple of nights to find To Perasma, but in our opinion this was easily the best of the Agia Efimia waterside restaurants. Really good choice of food, with everything freshly prepared, served by Angelo and his exceptionally friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. One evening, we opted for a change and visited the neighbouring Finikas - a disaster! (See separate report.) After that, common sense prevailed and we stuck to Angelo and his colleagues for the remainder of ous stay.

Agia Efimia is a wonderful, pretty village with everything you need for a fantastic holiday in peaceful surroundings.  You can sit and enjoy the most stunning views across to Ithika or enjoy good traditional food in any of the Tavernas in the village.  We have been visiting Agia Efimia for several years now and our favourite place to eat there is To Perasma, by the waterside - it's quite simply The Best!  All the dishes here are prepared with the freshest of ingredients and there are so many delicious dishes on the Menu that it's hard to decide what to have.  Whatever we choose, we are never disappointed ... Try Beef Tenderloin in Marsalla Wine Sauce with Mushrooms - fantastic! (I actually had this dish three times,  it was so good), or have Spagetti Frutti de Mare, with prawns, mussels, octopus, squid cooked with herbs in a rich tomato sauce - superb!   Mama's Chicken Curry is wonderful. There are also plenty of excellent vegetarian options available.  All this and the friendliest of staff to serve you.  Over the years that we have been visiting Agia Efimia, the family and staff at To Perasma - Angelo, Babis, Dora, Mama, have become our friends - we can't wait for July when we return to our 'dream island' and head straight there to enjoy fantastic food, fine local wine and a big, genuine, 'smiley' Kefalonian welcome.

We loved this restaurant!
We were looking for somewhere to eat - Captain Corelli seemed too obvious albeit nice, and To Perasma seemed to be the place...it was busy, but not with the crews of the holiday yachters as the rest of the tavernas seemed to be, but with the local Kefalonians who were obviously enjoying their food and the "proper" local atmosphere.

I'm a vegetarian but had no problem finding something delicious to eat every time we were there, and my wife loved the specials - especially the Beef A la Diablo and the Pork with Plums!

By the way, you don't have to bother about budgeting for a sweet - every time we were there, we got a gorgeous one with the compliments of the chef!

Despite the restaurant being busy, we were warmly welcomed and nothing could have been too much trouble for Agelos, Dora and Babis.

We were in Aghia Efimia for a fortnight and must have been back at least eight times.

As an aside, we had a disappointing breakfast once in Makis (the only time we ate breakfast outside our apartment) and it was dearer than the best meal we had at To Perisma (even with wine!)

Our highest recommendation!!

My husband and I have just returned from Kefalonia and stayed in a small village just outside Ag Efimia. We tried breakfast on our first day at another taverna, didnt like it so went to Perasma at night for dinner, and never went anywhere else. The food was fresh, authentic, full of flavour and the staff were attentive, friendly and cared that we enjoyed their taverna. We saw Greek people eating there every night too and for me that says it all. Angelo, Alexi and Laura added to the specialness of our holiday and they are one of the reasons that we will be back as soon as we can. We cannot thank them enough and look forward to seeing them soon. Angelo we will send you some Edinburgh Rock as soon as we can x

We visited here 4 times during our 2 week stay. The specials were an attraction, as they were a always a little bit different. Had to have best lamb and pork on the island. Local wine also great value Service excellent, and friendly, at a price you cannot eat for at home.

We spent two weeks in Kefalonia in the summer and ate our way round the island but returned to To Perasma time and time again. The friendly service, fantastic food (especially the pork and plums)and great value had us hooked. Cannot recommend it too strongly!

Nice here, good location on the front. Good menu with daily specials - Mussels were on offer the evening we ate there - and good variety of choice. Definately worth visiting.

Sam G

Both Food and Service were great. Good range of traditional Greek dishes with some excellent specials, the pork with plums was particularly nice. Would certainly recommend it to others.

a family run restaurant and really caring staff - Samantha, Dora, Angelo and Babis were simply wonderful. We were only staying for a week but ate at Persama four times and they never failed to impress us. Traditional Greek food was superb so we stuck with trying out lots of new tastes as non-meat eaters and were never disappointed.
Fabulous atmosphere and everyone eating seemed to enjoy botht the food and the hospitatlity. Miss you all!

The greeting was excellent from Samantha backed up Babis & Dora, Angelo oversaw that the whole operation ran smoothly.I ate mainly chicken which was the special of the day with the fried courgettes or ribs as the starter. My wife Jeannie ate everything that was traditionally Greek and was full of praise for its taste & quality. We can recomend the local wine also both red, white & the rose`. We dined here on many occasions & found this to be the best for us.Only disapointment-I did not get to eat Greek rice pud .......but next time ! WELL DONE!

We have just got back from Kefalonia and dined at this restaurant many times. Angelo, Babis , Dora and Samantha made us feel really welcome. Food was absolutely wonderful. I mainly ate the chicken dishes usually the chef's choice. My wife, Jean went for the more traditional Greek dishes and she enjoyed them immensely - particularly the lamb ambrosia which was absolutely delicious. She said she could have eaten it all over again! Only one small disappointment - we didn't get to try the Greek rice pudding, so we'll have to book our holiday next year to Kefalonia to make sure we get to try it!!

Ate here once having Stefado which although not the best one I had could not be faulted.

i just got back from Agia Efimia yesterday and am missing it already! Anyway i thought To Persama sereved the best food on the island, infact i think we ate there every night.i strongly recommend the the Chicken pita and kalamaray, commonly known as fried squids.(i think thats how you spell it!) They serve a range of traditional Greek meals and some from other cultures such as a few pasta dishes and chips(perhaps to draw in business from the English who aren't to keen to try new things)The owners and staff are lovely and we have made some good friends there and are heading back next year for the third time!Angelo, Dora and the reat of the staff deserve much credit for the excellent service and food(which i could happily eat for the rest of my life!

We have known the family who run this restaurant for many years and teh food is excellent! This is confirmed by the number of Grreks who visit. Other comments re the cold food, don't you know that traditionally Greek food is served cold or luke warm? The cheese pies are the best on the island and as vegetarians we were often made something special, highly recommend the spinach cannelloni!
Cant wait to get back!

food was very poor & appeared to have been cooked last month. it was also stone cold (maybe it was cooked last month!!). the place had no atmosphere & when you are staying for only 1 week it is very disappointing to have a below standard meal. the view was good though, but every place in ag-ef has a good view. not for us.. never again!!!!!!!!!!!

Jill

the cheapest restaurant in Ag Ef. Not the best, but not bad at all and generally 10 euros cheaper for 10 than anywhere else. Their beer is also some of the cheapest around.....

A small Taverna -grill house located next to Steki and hugely popular every night with both tourists and locals (also does a take away service which was popular with yachties and the local police from SAMI!) Menu choices a little limited but the specials were fabulous. Lamb in the oven and Lamb in small pasta were melt in the mouth gorgeous. Saganaki with cheese and ham also delicious if a little rich. Get there before 8.00 otherwise you may have to wait a little for a table
