Just returned from Trapezaki, our first trip to Kefalonia.  I was so disappointed.  It is completely lifeless.  The beach is about a foot wide, pebbly and has no character.  If you are staying in this location it is great for developing those old calf muscles!  Koyzina was a lovely little taverna.  The food is good and the service is excellent, especially from Stelios, a lifelong Manchester United fan.  I would not recommend this location for anyone without a car.  With a car, it wasn't a bad base to tour the island I suppose.

We stayed at the Sofia apartments and you would have to have taken part in the olympics to get to and fro to this accomodation, the pool was small and filthy with all sorts of insects swimming around in it, the apartments were very average and cooking facilities were very, very basic, the hill to the apartments was a daily task to be taken in excessive heat, with no transport except expensive taxis, shopping was a dread, two markets to choose from... as for the beach if you like walking miles in boiling hot heat to get to a beach which is less than half-mile long, has no water sports or anything for kids to do and not even worth mentioning then go right ahead and book this holiday, this area of the island has it all sewn-up, everyone is related to everyone else, and since there is not other option here you have to use what ever is on offer.

We went to Trapezaki Beach Hotel last year to eat.we were staying at Villa Olga. the food was excellent, and the hotel looked very good with great sea views. The beach at Trapezaki is about 10 minutes walk away. There is a couple of reasonable tavernas up the hill from the hotel (diana's and the olive tree)and two small super mkts. It's a very peaceful resort and hiring a car is a definite advantage.

We went to Trapezaki in August stayed in a Villa Olga, with Direct Greece. The resort was great, very peaceful, set amongst olive groves.the villa was fantastic, I think my only moan would be that it sometimes felt like a English colony but that was the nature of the resort, as there was no village as such and the resort consisted of villa and appts set on the hillside above the beach with a couple of tavernas and supermkts. Some form of transport is a must as the walk up the hill at the end of the day against the sun is not for the fainthearted

hi we booked a last minute holiday to trapezaki, I didn't know anything about it except the reviews that I read on here, and they were so right, it is a fantastic place to stay very quiet and peaceful, we stayed at Anastasis studios which were lovely and clean, the pool that we used wwas just round the corner and down the road the most gorgeous pool on the island overlooking the sea with a lovely snack bar. Just one thing to point out, if you hire a bike be very careful if it rains as the roads are lethal as they have marble chippings in the tarmack which make it like an ice rink, as we came off our bike up in the mountains miles away from anywhere but we live to tell the tale!!

Just arrived back from a great holiday in Trapizaki, stayed at Villa Olga with Direct greece.the Villa was fantastic, the area was wonderfully peacefull and the weather great.A car is probably a must
as the walk up the hill in the evening against the sun is a bit of a strugle

We have just arrived back from Trapezaki, stayed in the Jovanna Studios. These apartments were first class, gardens were beautiful and well maintained, owners were very friendly, could do with a little more sun loungers around the pool though. If you are looking for a nice peaceful holiday then this is the place, the locals were all very friendly.

Visited Lygies Apartments on a last minute deal last September 2002. Martina and all her family made us feel extremely welcome. Trapezaki is one of the most wonderful places we have ever visited. We enjoyed all the local entertainment that was there, including Dennis's singing and dancing evening. Our evenings were spent between the pool bar and Diana's Taverna, again both of which were excellent. Hoping to return soon even without the help of a tour operator!!!!

Have just returned from a fortnight at Marina Anna with Katerina and Dennis. As usual had a fantastic time. Had a Wonderful barbecue night , with fantastic food and a great crowd of people, haven't laughed so much in a long time. The Olive Tree Taverna opposite now has great food and Bouzouki nights every Monday. Can't wait to return.

We stayed at Trapezaki Villas last June, and booked up for this summer as soon as we got back. The holiday was so peaceful, everyone was extremely friendly, and Diana's Taverna was excellent for eating out in the evenings.

Hi there. This is Matina from Lygies in Trapezaki. Whatever Katerina says is surely true. those tour operators are trying so persistently to make everyone believe that Trapezaki is worth nothing!!! Well whoever has visited Trapezaki please let everyone else know that it is one of the prettiest places on the island. They cannot get through with this game of theirs!! But what are they trying to achieve anyway???
Trapezaki is waiting for eveyone who wants to spend a basic, quiet and restful holiday, but who still wish to be within easy driving distance of surrounding towns, local places of interest and areas of natural outstanding beauty. Here you can find all the ingredients required for a truly memorable holiday. If you want to visit Trapezaki area and us our e-mail address is: lygies@yahoo.gr
Kindest regards Matina- Lygies

KATERINA Kallivokas (May 25, 2003)
Hello, visitors of justkefalonia! Im the owner of Marina-Anna apartmets and would like to say that Trapezaki is the ideal destination for relaxing and sunny vacations!!!
Some tour operators are trying to convince guests and even (think about it) the local people that this lovely area will be abandoned from everyone! For no perticular reason. Just because they want to play their own games! Well, no!! This will not happen! we will not let it happen! They cant just cancel our contracts 2 days before guests arrive! giving no serious reasons!
Thank you for reading my "comment" and just know that Trapezaki will be open to all and you will be treated with friendlyness and see the hospitality that you deserve!! c u all
